Harness your body’s own healing power to stimulate collagen production, accelerate tissue repair, and restore a naturally youthful appearance — without surgery or synthetic fillers

The Beauty IV + PRP add-on combination ($320 + $600 = $920 total) is our most popular pairing for patients seeking skin brightening, collagen support, and hair restoration in a single visit.
Series of 3 sessions, spaced 4-6 weeks apart for optimal results. Maintenance sessions every 6-12 months thereafter to sustain and build on your results.
Yes. PRP uses your own blood, so there is no risk of allergic reaction, rejection, or transmission of disease. The procedure is performed by Dr. Galstian in a sterile clinical environment. Side effects are typically limited to temporary redness, mild swelling, or tenderness at the injection site, which resolve within 24-72 hours.
Most patients find the procedure very tolerable. We apply a topical numbing cream 30-45 minutes before treatment. You may feel mild pressure or a light pinching sensation during injection, but significant pain is uncommon. Scalp treatments can feel slightly more sensitive than facial treatments due to the density of nerve endings.
PRP works gradually, not overnight. For hair restoration, most patients notice reduced shedding within 4-6 weeks and visible new growth by 3-6 months. For skin rejuvenation, texture improvements appear within 4-8 weeks, with full collagen remodeling continuing for several months after the final session. Results are cumulative — the complete 3-session series produces the best outcome.
We recommend an initial series of 3 sessions, spaced 4-6 weeks apart. This protocol is supported by most clinical evidence and produces the most consistent results. After your initial series, maintenance sessions every 6-12 months help sustain and build on your results. Our 3-session package ($5,000) is the most cost-effective way to complete the full series.
Most healthy adults are good candidates. PRP works best for early to moderate hair thinning — not complete baldness where follicles are no longer active. For skin, it is suitable for most skin types and tones. We do not recommend PRP for patients who are pregnant, breastfeeding, on blood thinners, have active infections at the treatment site, platelet dysfunction, thrombocytopenia, or active cancer. Dr. Galstian will review your full medical history at consultation.
Downtime is minimal. Most patients return to normal daily activities the same day. You may experience mild redness, swelling, or scalp tenderness for 24-72 hours. For facial PRP with microneedling, redness may last 1-2 days. We advise avoiding vigorous exercise, alcohol, and direct sun exposure for 24 hours post-treatment, and avoiding NSAIDs for 72 hours as they may blunt the platelet response.
Yes — and we encourage it. PRP pairs exceptionally well with our Beauty / Hair & Skin Glow IV ($320), which delivers collagen-supporting nutrients including Vitamin C, Biotin, Proline, and Glutathione directly into the bloodstream. Many patients schedule both on the same visit for a comprehensive inside-out rejuvenation session. The add-on price when combined with the Beauty IV is $600. PRP can also be combined with Botox or Juvederm, though we typically space those treatments 2 weeks apart.
A single session is $2,000. The 3-session package is $5,000 — saving you $1,000 compared to booking three individual sessions. Clinically, the 3-session series is the recommended protocol for both hair and skin goals. Most patients who start with a single session continue to the full series, so the package is almost always the better investment. Members receive an additional 15% off on top of these prices.
PRP for cosmetic indications including hair restoration, facial rejuvenation, and skin brightening is not covered by insurance and is a cash-pay service. Payment is due at the time of service. Members of our IV Membership Plans receive 15% off all PRP sessions as part of their membership benefit.
At Family Medicine NYC, PRP is performed and supervised by Dr. Galstian, a board-certified physician with expertise in aesthetic and integrative medicine. Unlike standalone IV bars or med spas, our clinical setting means your treatment is grounded in a full medical history review, appropriate contraindication screening, and physician-level oversight throughout. Your safety is not an afterthought — it is the standard of care.
Disclaimer: PRP therapy is an elective cosmetic procedure. Results vary by individual. PRP is not FDA-approved as a standalone treatment for hair loss or skin rejuvenation, though it is widely practiced and supported by peer-reviewed clinical literature. A consultation with Dr. Galstian is required before treatment. All procedures are performed in a physician-supervised clinical environment.
